Purpose of the Contribution
The Basilica of Santo Spirito does not charge admission fees for access to the church.
Any contributions requested in connection with organized visits or historical and artistic educational tours are intended exclusively to support the activities of the A Minimo Incipe Association, a non-profit organization that collaborates with the Augustinian Community in the protection, conservation, enhancement, and public accessibility of the monumental complex.
The contribution therefore represents support for the Association’s institutional activities and for the preservation of the Basilica’s historical, artistic, and spiritual heritage.
A Minimo Incipe Association
The A Minimo Incipe Association is a non-profit organization based within the Santo Spirito complex.
It works alongside the Augustinian Community to promote, protect, and enhance the Basilica and Convent by supporting:
- the conservation of the artistic and monumental heritage;
- visitor services and public access activities;
- cultural, educational, and outreach projects;
- the promotion of the spirituality and thought of Saint Augustine;
- study and research initiatives in collaboration with institutions, organizations, and universities.
Bookings
Bookings are personal and non-transferable.
A booking is confirmed only after verification of any required contribution payment.
A booking does not constitute ownership rights or an exclusive right of access to areas of the Basilica, which remain subject to the liturgical, pastoral, and organizational needs of the Augustinian Community.
Payment Methods
Contributions may be paid by:
- PayPal;
- bank transfer;
- other payment methods indicated within the booking system.
Transfer of Bookings
Bookings may not be transferred, assigned, or resold to third parties without prior authorization from the organization.
The organization reserves the right to verify the identity of participants.
Cancellations and Refunds
Contributions made in support of the activities of the A Minimo Incipe Association are non-refundable in the event of:
- voluntary cancellation;
- failure to attend;
- late arrival;
- inability to participate due to circumstances attributable to the visitor.
In the event that an activity is cancelled for organizational, liturgical, safety, or force majeure reasons, the organization may offer an alternative date or a different participation arrangement.
Priority of Liturgical Celebrations
The Basilica of Santo Spirito is first and foremost a place of worship.
Religious celebrations, communal prayer, and pastoral activities always take precedence over visits.
For liturgical or pastoral reasons, certain areas may be temporarily inaccessible, and visiting routes may be modified or restricted.
Code of Conduct
Visitors are required to behave in a manner respectful of the sacred nature of the site.
In particular:
- appropriate and respectful clothing suitable for a place of worship is required;
- visitors are requested to maintain silence or speak in a low voice;
- disturbing religious celebrations is prohibited;
- touching artworks, furnishings, or historic structures is prohibited;
- minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Photography and Filming
By decision of the Basilica, photography inside the accessible areas is prohibited unless specific authorization has been granted by the Management.
Video recording, audiovisual recording, and any professional or commercial use of images are likewise prohibited without prior written authorization.
Acceptance of the Conditions
Booking and participation in a visit imply full acceptance of these conditions and of the organizational regulations published on the official website of the Basilica of Santo Spirito.
